Dear Hamlet Members –
We wanted to update the community on the ongoing issues that we faced with Patriot Disposal. The Board, your property manager, and Patriot had a meeting this week to discuss the problems the community faced since the change in vendors that took place in early December. Patriot was experiencing issues on the back end with trucks breaking down and drivers quitting, which caused a backup of trash removal and a delay in service. Since then, new trucks have been purchased, a new supervisor was hired, and new drivers have been hired as well. In addition, a new route automation system will be implemented soon, along with an email communication that will update property managers in real time if there is a trash delay. We are hopeful that these changes will alleviate any future issues with our trash pickups. Lastly, we received a credit for the entire month of December. We apologize profusely to the community for the unanticipated issues and look forward to having a vast improvement in the trash pickups.
As a friendly reminder, trash cans should be put out no earlier than 6pm the night before pickup and removed by 6pm the day of trash pickups. Trash cans may be stored in front of the homes if you utilize the approved Suncaster trash enclosure or trash partition.
Please note that cans are not required for Hamlet, and our contract allows for heavy duty contractor bags to be used in lieu of a can. However, trash/recycling/yard waste does need to be properly disposed of, and we included a link to Patriot’s website which has residential FAQs. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in ensuring trash pickups run smoothly.
