Happy Holidays from the Hamlet Board. We know the transition to Patriot Trash has been bumpy, and we want to thank you for your patience as we get issues resolved. Please see important information below regarding a number of issues, including late/missed pickups.
Patriot Cans with Lid Issues
Patriot Disposal believes the lid issues are due to cold weather and will resolve when it is warmer. If the lids continue to be an issue, we will have to revisit at a later time. If you are unwilling to wait, please call Patriot directly at (703) 257-7100 to request a new can.
Unwanted Trash & Recycling Cans
Please call Patriot Disposal directly at (703) 257-7100 to arrange for them to take back unwanted Patriot-branded trash and/or recycling cans. You should do this immediately following Christmas. We believe having owners contact Patriot directly will expedite this process. You can also check with neighbors who might need an extra can!
After the holidays, when contractors are available, we will arrange a time to have older (non-Patriot) cans removed. Please keep all trash and recycling cans in your backyard or behind the approved paneling in the meantime.
Mark Your Trash & Recycling Cans
You must put your house number on trash and recycling cans (Patriot or others you have purchased). Cans on common ground without house numbers could be accidentally taken by other residents or removed by the Hamlet during common ground cleanup.
Hamlet Waste Policies
All Hamlet trash policies are in effect. Please visit https://thehamlet.org/waste-removal/ for complete rules. Landlords – you are responsible for notifying your renters of the rules.
The move to Patriot Disposal provides the Hamlet Cluster with a more stable pricing structure and relationship with a local waste disposal company. We continue to work with our account manager to ensure more consistent service. We appreciate your understanding.
