About Reston’s Covenants
The Hamlet Cluster is part of Reston Association, and as such we have standards for most design elements of your property. Working with Reston Association’s Covenants staff, the Hamlet implements the various standards after approval by Reston’s Design Review Board (DRB).
Remember – if you make any changes to the outside of your home, you likely need to comply with existing cluster standards and file an application with Reston’s Design Review Board.
Getting Help with Hamlet Standards
If you are making changes to major elements on your property, such as windows, decks, roof, siding, etc., you must first contact the Covenants staff to be sure your project is in compliance. Do this even if you are only “refreshing” what’s in place. Do not assume what you have now is in compliance!
